KCC attend National XC Champs & Woodgreen TT

Published by admin on

Sorry for the lack of updates to KCC lately, however some of us have family holidays to take LOL

Anyway back at it and KCC is still growing in numbers in members and attendees to all our weekly club rides, and it looks like the ‘loop the loop’ is the most popular weekly cycle as it’s usually attended by over 15-20 riders all willing to push themselves that wee bit harder, and it’s showing as the averages speeds are increasing along with the fitness levels.

We had three members attend the XC national champs in Co Louth, however it wasn’t to be KCC’s day for stepping onto the podiums, as Scott broke his chain at the start line and after a quick repair he fought very hard in a difficult and strong field of riders to finish a very respectable 12th. Wee ‘Hill Repeat’ Drew Armstrong who has moved up this year to U16 (he’s 14) fought gallantly amongst those older than him to finish just outside the top three in 4th spot, then we had Andrew Croskey who battled it out in the U12’s field of a lot of riders to finish inside the top 10 getting 9th spot – WELL DONE!!

Andrew Evans, our quiet man who tells many of us next to nothing about what he’s planning next or what country he’s travelling too, ended up competing at the 10mile TT in Woodgreen over the weekend and with the strong windy conditions he was still able to achieve a PB over the course. He must be on the wind down from hills before his next trip away to London for the London Ride cycle, as it’ll be the flattest event of his 3 charities this year. Oh and not forgetting Mark Rowe will also be attending this London cycle too.

This Tuesday 19/7/16 sees the last TT of the interclub series run by LLRC – please see interclub link for venue.

K150 preparations are well under way and the numbers are starting to increase on entry central, so please keep the 21-8-16 free in your dairies to support Tiny Life and KCC.
