CX season comes to a finish & KCC attend annual awards dinner

Sunday 15/01/17 saw the last race of the Kinnings CX series at Stormont Estate. KCC didn’t have a big contingent of attendees, however Richard Gaffikin wasn’t giving up his 3rd spot on the ‘B’ category without a fight, and that he did as he battled from start to finish to try and maintain his 3rd spot, however it wasn’t to be a podium for him this season as he was pushed down to fourth – to quote the man ‘BALLS didn’t get 3rd I’ll be back in September’.
Can we at KCC just say a massive well done to all of the members who rode at the Kinnings league, Ulster league and the Irish championships in the black & orange, you have done your club proud and well done.

Several members of the club were up for awards and prizes for their hard work and achievements throughout the 2016 racing season and the Maitlands along with Drew ‘hill repeat’ Armstrong didn’t let the club down as they were all up for several awards for their strong results on the MTB scene. We also had our first open road winner with Andy McCullough gaining his silver medal during the A3 road race, this is a great achievement for a new club to open road racing and it will not be the last we see of any future prizes on the road 🙂
