Today saw the last round of the Spring League at Ormeau Park. Again KCC had kids and big kids in nearly all categories.
Our youngest members were first off in the Under 6’s with Max Galbraith and Carter McCullough making his debut in KCC colours. Both boys rode a great race – smiles all round and a goody bag to finish.
Next up in the Under 8’s was Cole Galbraith, who was getting to grips with his gears and rode a great race.
Then it was onto the Under 10’s and after the “major” decision to ride flat pedals, or clip pedals, Elliot finished a strong 5th.
We had 2 representatives in the Under 12’s race with Reuben and Andrew. Andrew had a good start, but unfortunately took a spill, but got back on to finish in 6th. Reuben also had a good start and managed to stay on the wheel of the older boys to finish 4th.
In the Senior B race Keith Young decided to give the XC a go and he didn’t let himself down. Starting at the back of the grid, he pushed through to finish well up the field and has been bitten by the XC bug!!!
Last race of the day was the Senior A the pressure was on going into the race for me to get a good result. I got a good start and was 2nd into the first corner and managed to take the lead, with 2nd and 3rd pushing me hard I crossed the line first, earning me the Spring League title. (well done! – ross)
Another great day for the black and orange. Thanks again to XMTB for another great league.
